Chief Operating Officer
Stuart Kuzik serves as the Chief Operating Officer for Wisconsin Diversified Investments, and was integral in founding Badger State Opportunity Fund—Wisconsin’s first statewide, multi-asset Qualified Opportunity Fund (QOF). Over the past 12 years, he has developed a wide breadth of experience in underwriting, commercial lending, risk rating analysis, ongoing portfolio performance management, deal structuring and negotiations, business development, and real estate investment. Stuart has worked for such financial institutions as JPMorgan Chase, M&I Bank, BMO Harris Bank, and TruStone Financial Federal Credit Union as well as the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA). Over the course of his career, he has underwritten over 200 business and commercial real estate deals valued at over $750 million. In addition, Stuart has managed a portfolio of over 150 businesses and real estate investors. A graduate of University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Stuart earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice & Social Welfare. After working in both the human services and legal fields, he realized one of the best ways to improve the quality of life in low-to-moderate-income communities is to help individuals, families, and businesses grow in their financial acumen and increase their access to capital. While serving at WHEDA, he was selected to participate in the National Council of State Housing Agencies Continuing Executive Education program at the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business. In addition to his formal education, Stuart has gained and continues to expand his substantial financial skills and knowledge through membership and active participation in a range of professional associations, including RMA-the Risk Management Association, the Commercial Association of Realtors-Wisconsin, NAIOP, and the Wisconsin Bankers Association. Stuart has been a leader on Opportunity Zones issues. The leadership role includes having been a member of the Opportunity Zones Working Group founded and staffed by Novogradac & Company, LLP. The Opportunity Zones Working Group provided a venue for industry professionals to discuss best practices and weigh in on technical and administrative items in open letters to relevant governing bodies. A lifelong Wisconsinite, Stuart gives back to Wisconsin nonprofits, entrepreneurs, and communities as well as to the financial sector through speaking engagements, articles, volunteerism, and mentoring.
